Welcome to J~H Bison Ranch, Trenton,IL

        In 2001 Jim and Helen Hayes moved to 10802 Sunnyside School Road in Trenton, Illinois, which is now known as the JbarH Bison Ranch. In 2004 some of the children gave Jim a big surprise birthday present, two young bison heifers and I guess you can say, “The rest is history.” Because Jim had a vision of a bison herd roaming free on the 68 acres behind his house he immediately went on a shopping spree to build a bigger herd. Now the two bison have become a herd of over 100. Jim can now see his herd but is continually looking for ways to improve the ranch.  They roam the pasture beside several horses, one alpaca, 10+ llamas and Sadie the Sicilian donkey. Sadie was brought home to us after her mother died at birth. She puts a smile on your face each time you see her. The ranch has also adopted a pony and a Tennessee walking horse who needed a “forever home.” In April of 2010 Jim brought home a VERY special baby black bear! The name “Little Bear” has stuck even though he is growing rapidly!  He seems to really enjoy the visitors, as he sometimes put on a funny show that lasts a long time. The more you laugh the more he enjoys. So come and see us but always save some room in your heart because all these loving pets will fill you up with joy and laughter.
