Bison Ranch Tours

Come to where the Bison herds roam free at J~H Bison Ranch, conveniently located in Trenton, IL.  Some of the friendly bison you will meet include Paco, and 800-lb. bison who loves to snack on Twinkies, T-Bone, a Woods Bison weighing in at over 1500-lbs., and bottle-fed Ginger and MaryAnne, all of whom love to be petted.  A day at the J~H Bison Ranch includes a tour of the state-of-the-art barn with a short presentation that includes information about bison, life on the ranch and a chance to ask questions.  Take a moment to pet one of the baby bison and have your photo taken with them.  There's more to the ranch than just bison, however- you will also get to interact with Alpaca Llamas, horses, and Sadie, a unique looking Sicilian Donkey. 
We strongy suggest that you wear comfortable walking shoes and comfortable clothes for the weather.

Expect the tour to last 90 minutes-2 hours- At time of reservation please state any time schedule limitations.

Tours are available 7 days a week with advanced reservations/First tour of the day
9:30 am-Last  tour of the day 2:30 pm
Ranch is closed to public New Year's Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.

Please understand that as a working ranch there may be days that we are unable to accept reservations.

Bison Tour with Meal at Trenton House

Dine in cozy elegance at the Trenton House, located in the heart of Trenton, Illinois.  With food ranging from the traditional home-cooked favorites to unique dining options like bison chili, there is something to satisfy everyone's tastes.  Don't forget to take a look around-the pressed tin ceilings and vintage lighting and sign are as delightfully presented as the food!
Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner are available.
Allow 45 minutes-1hour.

Bison Tour/Trenton House/Hidden Lake Winery
Groups Only
After a busy day at the ranch, take the time to "un-wine-d" at the Hidden Lake Winery in sleepy Aviston, Illinois.  A beautiful lodge on the edge of the lake serves as the tasting room where you can try their witty wines such as "Syrah-HaHa" or "The Doctor Z-in".  A "winetrail" that leads around the lake and through the "Silent Forest" allows you to take a bit of a stroll and enjoy the scenic beauty on your own.
